The LEGO Group has officially unveiled the newly-recoloured (and limited-edition) 77942 Fiat 500, which reimagines the cool yellow Creator Expert car in light blue.
Like the rest of the recoloured or resized sets launched as part of today’s trial program, 77942 Fiat 500 will only be available in the UK through official channels and selected third-party retailers, and only until November 30 (or stock runs out).
The pilot is intended to help the LEGO Group learn more about demand for different colours and sizes of existing products, and to better understand where customers prefer to shop. For all intents and purposes, this is exactly the same build as offered by last year’s 10271 Fiat 500, which will remain on the market in the UK alongside this new variant. The only substantive differences are in the colour scheme, both externally – which has switched from cool yellow to light blue – and internally, where several structural elements have been swapped to red for better contrast during the build.
77942 Fiat 500 is available to order from the UK version of LEGO.com, as well as Zavvi and IWOOT – both of which will ship internationally. While the LEGO Group hasn’t revealed exact numbers behind production runs for these trial sets, we’re expecting supplies to be very limited.
