11373 The Lord of the Rings: Sauron's Helmet marks a new direction for the return to LEGO The Lord of the Rings, coming in at a much more accessible size and price point than its enormous predecessors. Where classic LEGO The Lord of the Rings focused on play sets and the modern era has been largely dedicated to enormous display models, 11373 The Lord of the Rings: Sauron's Helmet piggybacks on the well-trodden collection of brick-built helmets, as already seen in LEGO Star Wars and Marvel.

Brick Fanatics' Matthew got to hear from the set's designer, Jae Won Lee, about what went into the upcoming LEGO The Lord of the Rings model, including what pointers it took from the LEGO Star Wars sets that came before.
