An Australian LEGO Certified Store has revealed a first look at a brand new and unreleased LEGO Friends set, 42602 Space Research Rover.
LEGO Friends has already ventured into the great unknown in 2024 with sets like 42605 Mars Space Base and Rocket, but it’s keeping the space party going in April with 42602 Space Research Rover. Bricks Megastore has published a whole bunch of images of the 514-piece set, which sees Friends characters Olivia and William ‘exploring an uncharted planet’.
Alongside those two mini-dolls in astronaut outfits, the set includes a space dog, two aliens, the eponymous rover and a hover scooter. The rover is equipped with an extendable camera arm to capture signs of alien life, fold-down beds for the mini-dolls, a bed and food for the dog, and a research lab to study samples (or perhaps just to dissect those poor aliens).
The model is also built around the same airlock element used across a number of other LEGO space-themed sets and product ranges in 2024, including City and Technic, to allow it to connect to the rest of your collection. It’s due to retail for $79.99 in Australia, so you can expect a price somewhere in the ballpark of £44.99 in the UK, $49.99 in the US and €49.99 in Europe.
Look out for confirmation of 42602 Space Research Rover’s international pricing as soon as it’s up on LEGO.com.
